History

Any public institution by its functions and by its concrete objectives for a certain period, is connected to people. When we are talking about the different aspects of the employment, at this chapter the National Employment Agency has a particular place on the labour market, because it is the unique state structure dealing with the employment of the persons and which must solve a lot of problems every day, connected to this meter.

The history of the National Employment Agency represents the years of hard work of those, who were at the beginning of the organization, and covers the continuous process of changes, being at the bases of the evolution and the development of the society.

In the present the National Employment Agency is the central public body of the disconcentrated public service, within the Ministry of Economy and Trade, authorized according to the Law nr.102-XV from 13.03.2003 concerning the employment and the social protection of the job – seekers, to promote the state policies, strategies and programs in the field of development of the labour market, the social protection of the job-seekers, the prevention of the unemployment and the struggle from its social effects.

At the territorial level the National Employment Agency has in subordination 35 territorial agencies, including: 32 district agencies, 2 municipal agencies (Balti and Chisinau), 1 agency in UTA Gagauzia.
